More protests and clashes in the Los Angeles area after raids by immigration authorities. Dozens of agents in riot gear and gas masks positioned themselves in front of a Home Depot in Paramount, south of Los Angeles .
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said it was on site "to help maintain peace, but not to be involved in stops or arrests" and urged protesters to disperse.
Subsequently, however, the police made some arrests and used tear gas for the second consecutive day to try to disperse the protesters, some of whom were waving a Mexican flag.
